Description

I first saw the Andromeda galaxy in October 1975 as a boy while on a camping trip in the West Virginia mountains with my Dad and older brother. Spied from a small clearing near our camp site., I was truly blown away in that moment as I realized I could easily see another galaxy with the naked eye! (Bortle 1-2 skies back in those days and MUCH younger eyes. lol)  It was such a bright and distinctively different object in that night’s sky... especially.when compared to the sea of stars it was nestled amongst.

This is my first decent image (previous attempts were never wide field enough or deep enough) of this famous galactic companion of our milky way galaxy,  and am pleased with how this effort turned out given some high thin clouds the night this data was collected.
